
My earlier scribbles were slightly better. I think I’ve made the body a bit tall on this redraw. I like the way the head is looking back. If anyone can find an ‘F’ with pointed ears they could make this look even more like a fox.
The world population is not endangered, but one arctic fox that is, is the Alopex Lagopus semenovi of the Mednyi Island [Commander Islands, Russia], which was reduced by some 85-90%, to around 90 animals, as a result of mange caused by an ear tick introduced by dogs in the 1970′s. The population is currently under treatment with antiparastic drugs, but the result is still uncertain.
